Green Shoots or False Dawn ?
Published on 11th May, 2009 at 13:21 by Eric Mowinski.
The recent rise in markets has provided some renewed optimism but can it be relied on.
The stock market seems a happier place at the moment the FTSE 100 has risen over 18% since the 30th March. Reports in the financial press and news channels are also a little more up beat.
The increase fits in with our very short term forecast of an improvement in markets from very oversold positions. This improvement will extend into the summer but thereafter we will see reductions.
So I am sad to say this is an expected false dawn. Its is welcome because it will allow investors to reinstate some of their profits taken in the recent savage downturn. It will be important to keep investments flexible to make changes later in the year.
