Pin Markets take a breather

Published on 3rd September, 2009 at 12:16 by Eric Mowinski B.Sc.

Most major stockmarkets have seen a tremendous run through the summer but could we have seen the best of the markets ?

There is no doubt that we have seen a significant run in stockmarkets since their lows in March of this year. Could this be a breather with markets pushing ahead or the end of this strong rally.

The expectation is for strong economic recovery as many leading indicators point to progress over the past few months. I believe this may well prove to be a false reading as consumers begin to tighten their belts reducing spending and the significant debt accumulated over the past few years.

This is a time for extreme caution as it is unsure which way markets will go. For those who can maintain the value of their assets, there will be significant opportunities ahead.
